Fair Use Policy

Last updated: April 21, 2026

1. Scope

This Fair Use Policy explains how the Business plan uses the term Unlimited in product copy and pricing.

It applies to Business plan usage of API keys, requests, and token-based monthly usage in Sift. It should be read together with the Terms of Service.

2. What Unlimited means

Unlimited means there is no fixed hard cap shown in standard Business plan UI for normal production use. It does not mean unrestricted or abuse-tolerant usage.

Business includes unlimited active API keys for normal operations and high monthly throughput that can be increased with agreement for sustained higher-volume workloads.

3. Fair use guardrails

To keep service quality stable for everyone, we may apply technical or operational controls such as:

  • Rate controls to prevent abusive spikes and denial-of-service style traffic.
  • Temporary protections for anomalous traffic patterns, key leakage, or automation abuse.
  • Reasonable anti-circumvention checks where usage intentionally bypasses safeguards.
  • Requests for architecture changes when traffic patterns are materially harmful to platform stability.

4. Coordination for high-volume workloads

If your workload is sustained at very high levels, contact us so we can align capacity, expected traffic shape, and support terms. We can raise baseline allowances by agreement where appropriate.

5. Changes

We may update this policy to reflect technical, operational, or legal changes. The latest version is posted at /legal/fair-use.
